About you!
Do you have an awesome grasp of the english language, in both verbal and written form?
Yes, I was born and raised in the UK.
Are you at least 18 years old?
I will be thirty-five years old next May.
Why us?
You appear to be a well organised and well established guild, with a pro-active attitude towards achieving solid goals within the framework of the game, without losing sight of your relationship with the rest of the server, from what I have experienced, your members are polite, dedicated individuals who seem bound by a common purpose of advancement in all aspects of the game, in short, a success story without the debris that often follows in the wake of a predominant server guild.
Why you?
I would like to think that you will consider me based upon a good reputation, an attention to detail and a dedication to the perfection of not just my own character within the game, but to that of those around me, this, coupled with a willingness to listen and the ability to laugh at myself (on occasion).. and hopefully a perusal of my character profile, should support this analysis.
Do you consider yourself active?
Yes, I play WoW constantly, perhaps too much, I used to watch tv and see my friends, now, I download the best tv has to offer and all my friends play WoW as well, since creating Snáke on 4th October 2007 I have been actively in-game with him for 100 days, 16 hours, 41 minutes, of which I have been 70 for 62 days, 6 hours and 56 minutes. If you happen to look at my reputation list on my profile, it would require alot of activity to get thus far.
How stable is your connection?
Those very nice people at Sky have put in a damned fine connection, which despite sharing the modem with 2 others who play WOW provides download speeds of up to 500kbps and of which i have only been disconnected by, once in the last 6 months.
Were you in a guild before? If yes, which one? Why did you leave?
Yes, when I originally hit 70, I joined the guild formally known as XIV, a guild made up of a group of individuals recently arrived from another server, led by Horus. To cut a long story short, the policies and attitude of the guild leader resulted in a catastrophic breakdown in the relationship between the guild and the server community in general, culminating in the raid leader ninja-looting a tier item during a raid that he wanted with the tacit approval of said guild leader. Rather than accept this, or by doing nothing tacitly approve of it, I led a revolt against such dishonourable behaviour resulting in the guild leader and Raid Leader stepping down and moving to a different server. Despite not seeking the position, I was given leadership of the guild and proceeded to drag it and its reputation up out of the mud. About a month later, I negotiated and established a raiding alliance with the guild Bloodhoof Militia, a blossoming friendship that proved fruitful for both organisations, and its members resulting in a merger to form the guild Forgotten Shadow, which I co-ran with our leader, and my friend Portal.
However, as the months past, despite expanding in size and success at raiding newer content for us, real life issues forced my partner to move on to greener pastures in the real world, and as it happens, I came to realise that my true enjoyment in the game came from merely playing it and that being responsible for the day to day struggles of so many was detracting from it. Hence you see me now, I have left Forgotten shadow in the hands of the most honourable and capable man I knew, who, despite the difficulties of losing players and seeking new direction for the guild, I am confident that he will 'do the right thing' by the majority and I am seeking a place to hang my hat and get on with actually 'playing' the game.
Now the obvious question would be...why not stay in forgotten shadow to do this, in truth, if I had stayed, it would have been infinitely more difficult for any new leader to establish themselves, with the former leader walking the halls so to speak, so falling on my sword seemed the most honourable thing.
Raided before? Where? How'd that work out?
I have raided Kara,Gruul's, Magtheridon,SSC, TK and ZA, I have participated in the progression raids for each of these instances including looting the third time chest in ZA (pre current patch)
Are you applying for a raidspot or would you just like to be friends?
Actually, im appying for a bit of both to be perfectly honest, I think that once your members have gotten to know me better, grouped with me, levelled with me, wandered around and yes, wiped with me, you will undoubtedly be able to discern my qualities as a player and as a result, Id like a chance to earn a place raiding with you.
We use addons. If you're applying for a raidspot you'll need at the very minimum Ventrilo. Any problems
there?
I have Vent, and your member Christol has visited our vent server and has spoken with me on several occasions. When I led Forgotten Shadow, it was requirement for those wishing to raid to have Ventrillo, Deadly boss Mods and Omen.
About Your Class!
What does your chosen talent specc in your class do?
Well regrettably, as you can see, I felt the full brunt of the nerf baton whe the recent patch came in, as I was a Survival spec hunter, geared around the talent; expose weakness, I felt that rather than merely contributing 'big numbers' of DPS, contributing to the strength of the raid as a whole was more important and as a result and as you can see, all of my gems and enchantments reflect this, however, with no longer raiding since leaving forgotten shadow (apart from the occasional pick up), and wrath being released less than two weeks from now, I have only respecced to Marksman as it aids in my aquirment of items on the achiement list. Once Wrath is released however I intend to take a more serious look at what I want to do with the character and make changes as appropriate, paying particular attention to the contribution I will make to primarily a raid and secondly groups I will be in.
Sounds awesome. What kind of stats do you need on your gear to make that work well?
Well, up until the patch, agility, agility and more agility, now however, its back to critical strike rating, haste rating and attack power.
What about abilities? Which do you use? What order do you use them in?
I tend to use a rotation of steady shot, arcane shot and scorpid sting (as i think a tank values an extra 5% mitigation over a bit more damage), im exploring the uselfullness of the Chimera shot with this, but tbh its too early to say. (suffice as to say, its somewhat naieve to assume that raid bosses can be disarmed, but it can happen) Naturally the recent change to aimed shot makes this more viable as required in a raid setting and is used if needed.
Tell me an interesting fact.
I had an accident late last year that left my right arm paralysed until June this year (Im right handed), so I learned to play WoW left handed.
P,S
Sorry if this application was a bit longer than normal, but I felt that precision was important, since you suggested I spend some time on it.
