The Basics
Name: Altáriel
Race: Blood Elf
Class: Mage
Professions: Tailoring and Enchanting
Talent Specifications: Pure Fire, with the appropriate frost talents thrown in to gain hit cap and icy veins.
Level: 70
Armoury Link: eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=The+Sha%27tar&n=Alt%C3%A1riel (hopefully that should update to show I'm hit capped and wearing Spellfire set rather than whats currently equipped)
About you!
Do you have an awesome grasp of the English language, in both verbal and written form?
Absolutely (as i am English), so feel free to ask me anything about Jane Austen, but not Dickens, because that man makes me want to hate the English Language!
Are you at least 18 years old?
That i am, and soon to be 19 before the close of the year.
Why us?
Two friends of mine recently applied here and I'd love to join them in the guild, yet more than anything i hope to be part of a reliable and active group of players come WoTLK.
Why you?
I'm affable and generally awesome...ish...okay I'm not bad then. I view myself as a more than capable mage, a fact that I'd hope some people would vouch for (although probably not just to spite me, grrr), but that isn't too say I'm not willing to take advice and there is always room for improvement.
How stable is your connection?
Perfectly stable and speedy to boot!
Do you consider yourself active?
Yes and no. Prior to starting to attending Uni i was worryingly active. However i imagine come WoTLK usual WoW habits will resume, and subsequently there'll be plenty of hours spent on WoW.
Were you in a guild before? If yes, which one? Why did you leave?
Been in 3 guilds thus far. The first of which was a collection of friends born out of one of the large original guilds that formed at the formation of The Sha'tar. Upon its collapse i joined Order of Hellscream as a means of getting myself into raiding. Subsequently i moved on to Fraternity, and left for various reasons, though notably because of the two principle friends in there who had left.
Raided before? Where? How'd that work out?
I've successfully completed Kara; Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon; the chest run of Zul'Aman and the first 3 bosses of SSC. I've also explored Hyjal and TK, but luck was against the group on my visits there (the unfortunate side of having to find extra players to fill spots)
Are you applying for a raidspot or would you just like to be friends?
I would very much be interested in obtaining a raidspot, though i appreciate the fact that few may be on offer to a Mage, so making friends is also a priority (so i can bribe myself a raidspot with candy mua ha ha...ahem)
We use addons. If you're applying for a raidspot you'll need at the very minimum Ventrilo. Any problems
there?
Absolutely not, though with regards to Vent i don't use a mic as i believe its taking a game beyond how i wish to play it.
About Your Class!
What does your chosen talent specc in your class do?
Fire gives me a reliable source of DPS in raids, without burning my mana out at a frightening rate. The few frost spots supplement it nicely by giving bonus hit % and the fantastic skill that is Icy Veins.
Sounds awesome. What kind of stats do you need on your gear to make that work well?
The basic stat is Intellect, as its the core stat for mages. In terms of spell stats, i'd go for Hit, Bonus Damage and Haste (all 3 stats that are in great supply in my character, well, i think they are)
What about abilities? Which do you use? What order do you use them in?
I'm a big fan of fireball. It has a habit of doing damage to mobs (sorry, I've been so unsarcastic since i came to uni, i had to vent some, promise it won't happen again ). Combustion and Icy veins also play a part in increasing damage output. I also occasionally use Invisibility, should a tank not generate quite enough threat (though usually thats more applicable to 5 man Instances rather than raiding).
Tell me an interesting fact.
Hmmm, well thanks to the Combined Cadets Force at my school I'm proficient in the most unreliable assault rifle known to man, the SA80, and the the L86A2 LSW.
Also did you know technically the Sahara isn't the worlds largest desert. That accolade belongs to Antarctica. I did not know that, and subsequently i lost the pub quiz on Sunday (actually my team came 6th, but not knowing that question still contributed to our loss).
Lastly, apologies for any grammatical errors, or moments of not making sense. Writing this at a time when my brain isn't functioning perfectly. Still, it got me out of doing my Economics work, so its not all bad. ;D
