Why us?
Ruin have a good reputation. Also my friend is applying and it would be nice to stay together. I've seen ruin members around a lot and always wondered what it's like to be in this guild.
Why you?
I have been told by a lot of people I'm a good/great/best tank they've had. I would say I'm pretty good myself, maybe not the best out there but I let the people judge, I think maybe even one or two in the guild would agree.
Do you consider yourself active?
On most if not every night. Currently sorting out work so less active before 5-6 Server time.
How stable is your connection?
Quite stable, rarely disconnect. Happens very rarely or after annoying big patches.
Were you in a guild before? If yes, which one? Why did you leave?
My last guild was Fraternity. A couple of reasons for leaving. Mostly because I feel I can do more for tanking, and they weren't giving me the oppurtunity.
Raided before? Where? How'd that work out?
Last night I saw Archie. Pre-nerf we cleared all bosses except Vashj in SSC, and had A'lar down in TK. VR was down too of course
ZA cleared before the nerf, aswell as 3 chests. Day after the recent patch I led a ZA raid and we got the 4th chest.
Are you applying for a raidspot or would you just like to be friends?
Mostly Raidspot but won't hurt to make friends at the same time
We use addons. If you're applying for a raidspot you'll need at the very minimum Ventrilo. Any problems
there?
Already have Vent. Other addons I can get too (if I don't have them already)
About Your Class!
What does your chosen talent specc in your class do?
Protection - Tanks the mobs or bosses so the dps aren't one shotted. Paladins strength is aoe threat holding.
Sounds awesome. What kind of stats do you need on your gear to make that work well?
Aha, thats quite different since the patch. Well Stack stam to make the most use of Touched by Light for spell power which makes more threat and of course the stam keeps you alive with lots of hp. Strength is also a great stat to have now as it increases our Block value a lot more than it used to, it increases the damage from our spells and abilities which again means more threat. Intel used to be needed a little, but with the improved BoSanc mana is not an issue anymore.
Avoidance I feel is quite important. So most of my gems increase my dodge and parry. Block comes with Holy shield and some of the gear so don't need any gems to increase the chance of that And Holy shield is less threat than most other spells now. There's also the need of 490 defense.
What about abilities? Which do you use? What order do you use them in?
Well paladins have got a mix of a few abilites now. Still trying them out, but basics I have Holy shield near to all the time in heroics. It's always up in raids unless I've had something break through 8 charges in less than 8 seconds. HoR is a very good threat builder and Judgement is still a spell that I use when it's mostly off cooldown. Depending on threat levels, main reason I use it now though is to keep Judgement of wisdom on the boss or trash mob thats doesn't die in 3 seconds.
Avengers shield, still good for pulling, and good for quick burst of threat on three mobs when aoe tanking now that it's instant cast. I found Holy wrath can be a lot of fun in situations like MH too.
