Hiya and welcome to Ruin.
This guild was founded by former members of the Bloodlust guild, complemented by a core of ex Contrast people. It fell to me to take the post of guild master, so I thought I should think out loud, rant a bit if you like, regarding my vision of the time ahead and the challenges.
First and foremost, I want to have fun with likeminded people. This is a game. (Orly?) In periods it's an all encompassing hobby, but it's still a game. At 70, the basis of solo play is all done, you can quest, you can grind materials, you can grind pvp honor. But it's all very similiar to what you did at level 30. Kill this many mobs, get that item, go to that place.
What never stays the same are all the people you can interact with. This is what makes a guild so fascinating, and the one activity we can do together, with as many members as possible (outside of an RP-wedding where Kivan can get drunk and make a fool of himself) is raiding.
Therefore, the secondary goal of the guild is 25man-raiding. In short, my main vision of this guild is to develop a smooth, well organized guild, ready to take on whatever comes in Wrath of the Lich King. The time until then, will be spent on the 'smooth' and 'well organized' part. This means we will have a pve focus, and hopefully you will be interested in that focus. This does not mean you can't do other stuff. Pvp is fun, RL will always be there (hopefully), enjoy it. It just means that the direction of the guild as a whole will be towards pve and the joys of working together. Ideally, even the people not currently in the raid will cheer for boss kills as much as the ones in it. A lofty goal indeed.
